Emotional Intelligence Workshop
Today I attended a very informative workshop: “ Emotional Intelligence & Diversity for Keeping Your Cool When Dealing with Hot Issues”, sponsored by Diversity Leadership Association of Phoenix. I am always open to learning additional insight even on topics that I feel I know how to handle. In this case I took a half of vacation day to attend so that I could obtain information about bringing helpful information to my workplace. I belong to few diversity associations at work


Music Bridges Cultures
As we have often heard, music transcends boundaries. I love watching anything accompanied by music. I particularly like musical competitions like the Voice. It has become my absolutely favorite show. Growing up in Serbia, I listened to pop music and sometimes their traditional (country) music, and a part of me still loves those sounds. It was time to dust off my recipes and bake 200 cookies. It's been a while since I baked anything at home. I was happy to do it for charity. There was a little glitch in the process - hot water heater died. At the end it all worked out.


Holiday Boutique Benefit in Mesa
I was one of the 36+ crafters and vendors to support this event held once a year. All proceeds from the raffles went to the Sunshine Acres Children's Home in Mesa, AZ. My table displayed books, Venice journals, magnets, cards, bands, and T-shirts that I was happy to create for this purpose….being there felt incredible for the sake of making this contribution for great cause. My two cousins and I arrived in Arizona late in the evening only to rise early and fly to Burbank the next morning. In Burbank, we rented a car and headed to NBC studios to identify its location.
